Online Training: Russia’s New Law on Onshoring Foreign Internet Companies & Privacy Law Updates

The Finnish Chambre of Commerce organizes an online training in Russia's new law in onshoring foreign internet companies and privacy law updates on December 9th. The language of the event is English.
By 01 January 2022, foreign e-commerce and other online companies will be required to open offices in Russia. According to the onshoring law No. 236-ФЗ dated 01 July 2021, these companies must obey the national laws, register with local authorities, and fulfil other requirements.
This year, Russia notably updated its privacy legislation. The recent changes include new state supervision rules, increased amounts of fines for breaching the personal data law, and restrictions to the processing of publicly available data. More amendments, such as consumer privacy rules and new consent requirements, are expected in 2022.
The speakers in the online training event will share insight into the new onshoring law and summarize the current and upcoming changes to the Russian privacy legislation.
